Truly Beautiful

Donna’s Breast Reconstruction

Donna’s Breast Reconstruction

First Name: Donna
City: Richland
Country: United States
Age: 68

Somehow, someway I am going to fight to get my breast repaired and replaced!!! I was even able to obtain from my doctor’s office the exact information of everything from my surgery in 1987.

I am widowed and 68 but I still feel I have a right to look attractive and wear low cut dresses. I do not look or act my age and even though I have been widowed twice, I would like another gentleman in my life. I come from good genes and could easily live another 30 years.

I am proud to be a 22 year breast cancer survivor!

My cancer happened in 1987… I had no drugs, only complete breast removal and implant reconstruction...my friend chose lump removal and I lost her 4 months after her decision. 22 years later I am still here. I hope maybe even some manufacturer will read this and might come to my rescue since I took my doctors advice and we watched the implant and did not panic to remove it. I am grateful to him for letting me make this choice!!!!!! - Donna

Donna’s Breast Reconstruction Details

Reasons for Wanting Surgery (check all which apply): Repair Injury/Mastectomy
Other Details: My 22 year silicone implant has been ruptured in a fall recently at a restaurant - my problem is I am on Medicare now and afraid they will remove, but not replace my implant. The person who did my ultrasound was amazed that I had a 22 year old implant in place. My doctor watched this for 22 years for me and has since retired so cannot help me or he would! No liability insurance! I want my breast back. I did this for me in 1987, not for my husband who has now passed...my doctor even invented a procedure to make my droop which in Seattle at Virginia Mason Hospital I believe is still being done! Most people never knew I had an implant. I want to save to my breast and my appearance!
Reaction of Friends, Family, Co-Workers
(check all which apply): Excellent
Other Details: when I said “touch them and tell me the fake one” most people could not!!! I had an excellent surgeon who asked me “do you want it out?” when the scare hit- he said “if you want to keep it I gave you the best and I will watch it for you” - I did and now because of a bad fall, I am in danger of losing it !
Type of procedure: Breast Reconstruction
Incisions Used: Full Anchor
Implant Type (check all which apply): Silicone , Round
Details: I believe it was the full round type- and he did it with a droop since I was a D cup at the time
Satisfaction Rating: High
Reasons for Satisfaction Rating: I got to live 22 years so far with hardly no one even knowing I had one...I would do it again!
Have you undergone any other plastic surgery procedures? : No
Are you considering other future procedures?: Yes
Details: I want it replaced and due to age and back problems need my right one made to match, as it causes me back pain from the drooping of age!
Bra Size Before Surgery: D
Bra Size After Surgery: C+
