Tina’s Silicone Implants

Tina’s Silicone Implants

First Name: Tina
City: Hobart
Country: Australia
Age: 44

I had just had my second child at the age of 21 and my breasts were very saggy. So 7 months after my daughter was born I had silicone implants with a breast lift. Weeks later I had the stitches removed and all was fine, then I started oozing pus from under both my breasts. Holes formed as I rushed back to the surgeon who realized rotten stitches were left in. After removing them I recovered very well and was very happy with the results. At no time was I aware I would need them the implants replaced at some time in the future or that having mammograms poses a risk of rupture.

I am now 44 yrs old and have been having problems with lumps in both my breasts for the past 18 months or more. I am afraid to have a mammogram or a needle biopsy for fear of rupturing the implants. I am scared I could have cancer but also scared of having the tests. Future surgery also scares me but my breasts look deformed and I feel like a freak. I cannot afford the surgery and that is also risky because of the age of the implants. I WISH I NEVER HAD THEM. - Tina
