Bra Inserts

Bra Inserts Bra inserts are special products which fit inside bra cups providing support, lift or fullness to the breasts. Brassiere inserts can be placed inside the cup or in specially designed “stay put” pockets sewn into the actual bra. Almost every pushup bra has integrated bra pads which provide that added lift and separation which have become mainstays in modern feminine fashion.

Types of Bra Inserts

The most common type of brassiere insert is the push up pad. This product is integrated into many bras or can be retrofitted into any bra to provide a nice lift effect. The push up pad can be made from a variety of materials including cloth, jelly polymer or silicone. Pads come in different sizes and shapes to help support breasts, increase breast lift, enlarge the appearance of breasts and provide additional breast fullness. Some inserts are actually entire breast prostheses which mimic a natural anatomical shape in women who have lost a breast completely.

Indications for Bra Inserts

Women use inserts for numerous reasons. Women with typical breasts often employ bra pads to simply raise and emphasize their natural curves. Women with small breasts usually employ pads to increase size and fullness, evening out their proportions. Women with a damaged or missing breast will employ prosthetic breast forms to provide bodily symmetry and the appearance of a normal bust line. Women with ptotic breasts will use pads to give their breasts an incredible lift effect while inside the bra. There are so many uses for brassiere inserts, each one unique to the woman employing the technique. Additional uses for bra pads include utilization by pre-op male to female transsexuals and men interested in cross dressing.

Bra Inserts and Psychology

Brassiere inserts are usually the first method a woman will use to lift and enlarge her breasts. This might begin as early as the teen years and may continue for a lifetime. Many women use these devices simply to improve their looks as a fashion accessory. Other women rely heavily on the pads as a security blanket to help them overcome actual or perceived breast size issues. These emotional issues might make affected women reluctant to remove their undergarments, even during sexual activity. Often, a poor body image will develop, leading to possible mental and psychosomatic physical conditions which can be very problematic. Although bra pads offer a temporary and very limited solution for these women, it might be a better idea to confront the emotional concerns head on, instead of avoiding them with a quick fix. Cosmetic breast augmentation or breast lift surgery might provide a better long term solution for these issues and can make a drastic positive change in the lives of suffering women.

Recommendation on Bra Inserts

In the “old days” a women could stuff her bra with tissue, socks or any other item which might be formed into a breast shape. This often led to embarrassing circumstances when an object would move about in the bra, causing a strange and unnatural appearance. Well designed bra pads prevent this from happening and provide excellent support, pushup effect and size increase for women with all types of breasts. Bra pads can be very cheap or somewhat expensive, depending on material and size. Cloth pads can be very effective and are fine when feel is not such a big issue. If you expect to feel realistic when wearing enhancing bra pads, it is best to invest in quality silicone shapes, which mimic the feel of a real breast. While these can be moderately expensive, they are a good investment which can last virtually forever under normal use.
