LeJour Mastopexy

LeJour Mastopexy The LeJour mastopexy procedure is also commonly called the vertical breast lift or lollipop lift. This technique has become a very popular procedure for medium to large breasted woman with moderate to severe breast ptosis. The LeJour procedure is currently practiced by many cosmetic breast surgeons all across the globe and demonstrates excellent results in millions of operated patients worldwide.

LeJour Mastopexy Technique

The LeJour breast lift is a moderate approach to mastopexy. The technique is far more invasive and complicated than a Benelli or crescent lift, but is less invasive than a full traditional mastopexy which uses an anchor incision. The LeJour method uses 2 basic incisions to accomplish the breast re-sculpting. The first is a complete periareolar incision used to reposition the areola and nipple to a higher anatomical placement. This repositioning can raise the nipple by as much as 7 centimeters. The second incision is a straight vertical cut from the bottom of the areola to the inframammary fold. This incision is used to remove excess skin and draw the remaining breast tissue together nice and neat, eliminating any skin wrinkling or puckering around the nipple.

LeJour Mastopexy Scarring

The scars left by this procedure are the main negative consideration for most patients. While the procedure itself works wonders to rejuvenate the breast shape and feel, the marks of the surgery can be quite noticeable. The operation will leave the typical periareolar scarring, as well as a vertical scar from the centerline incision. This vertical scar is the most visible and is often the reason why some women decide to forego the surgery. Remember, that new scar reduction techniques, as well as advanced surgeon skill, can help minimize and conceal surgical marks better than ever. If you have problematic breast ptosis and suffer the associated emotional anguish from your bodily condition, a breast lift will be the best answer for your dilemma, despite the potential for scarring.

Recommendation on a LeJour Mastopexy

The LeJour technique is also used during some breast reduction procedures. The incisions made in both advanced mastopexy operations and the majority or breast reduction surgeries are strikingly similar. LeJour lifts can be combined with breast augmentation using saline or silicone breast implants. This combined approach is the best option for women who want larger, firmer, more youthful breasts, but currently have seriously flat or saggy breasts due to age or childbirth related changes. The dual procedure is complicated and will leave scarring, but the end result will be sure to please. Transforming breasts which make a patient miserable due to degenerative changes in the skin and supportive tissue, to breasts which will stand up proud and firm on their own, can make a drastic difference in a woman’s self esteem and body image. To learn more about the LeJour lift technique, contact a qualified cosmetic surgeon to determine which type of breast lift is best for creating your dream body.
