Truly Beautiful

Plastic Surgeons

Plastic surgeons are specialized medical practitioners who focus on the repair and reconstruction of damaged, abnormal, diseased or deficient tissue. Plastic and reconstructive surgeons will use an extensive arsenal of techniques to improve the aesthetic appeal of a particular body part while also attempting to restore full functional capacity to the region. Plastic surgery specialists are some of the most highly trained of all medical professionals.

Cosmetic and Plastic Surgeons

Plastic surgery is the root industry of both of these particular specialties. Traditionally, plastic surgery is more concerned with correcting or improving the form and function of abnormal tissues which have been affected by trauma, congenital or developmental conditions, illness or disease. Cosmetic surgery solely focuses on improving the appearance of normal tissues to suit the preferences of the patient. There is a considerable overlap in these 2 industries and the training is remarkably similar. Basically, if you need something fixed because it is physically broken, dysfunctional, distorted, problematic or deformed, you will require plastic surgery. If you simply want to make some body part bigger or smaller, or change its form, color or profile, you need to undergo cosmetic surgery. Plastic surgery is usually covered under health insurance benefits, while cosmetic surgery is elective and the patient is completely responsible for payment.

Choosing a Plastic Surgeon

Finding the right plastic or cosmetic surgeon for your particular needs is a daunting prospect for many patients. Every doctor’s talents are NOT created equal and their skills might be concentrated in a particular area of expertise. Your choice of surgeon will determine how your body will look after surgery more than any other single factor. Interviewing surgeons is a good way to determine if their attributes will fulfill your surgical expectations. Recommendations from former patients should be highly regarded, since they have actually experienced and benefited from the surgeon’s care.

Do not confine your search to doctors who happen to practice in your home town. It is worth expanding your geographic search to find the best doctor and some patients even choose to travel across the globe simply to undergo surgery with the world’s best physicians. This type of travel is called Medical Tourism and is growing in popularity year by year.

Recommendation on Plastic Surgeons

Whenever possible, try to hire a board certified surgeon who has industry ties to a legitimate and respected medical organization. Remember that there are many medical boards which govern these doctors and some are far more reputable than others. Do not employ a general surgeon or other medical practitioner to perform plastic or cosmetic surgery. These doctors might be legally qualified and understand the technical scientific knowledge needed to perform a plastic surgery procedure. However, they do not have the detailed training in the art of plastic and reconstructive surgery which is vital to achieving beautiful aesthetic results.

Don’t take chances with your body, health or life…

When considering cosmetic surgery, hire a qualified cosmetic surgeon. When considering plastic surgery, hire a qualified plastic and reconstructive surgeon.
