Restylane

Restylane is a substance used in various injection therapy skin treatments. The substance mostly consists of hyaluronic acid, which is a key component of the elastic soft tissues in our skin. Using injectable hyaluronic acid is common in the cosmetic surgery industry for resolving a number of aesthetic issues in the facial skin. Another popular form of injectable hyaluronic acid injection is found in the wrinkle filler named Juvederm.

Restylane Indications

Restylane Hyaluronic acid can be used as a skin filler and wrinkle diminisher. In this application, it is injected just under the surface to fill small lines and creases on the face. This will enact wrinkle reduction and help reduce the visibility of laugh lines, smoker’s lines and small hollows in the skin. Hyaluronic acid can also be used to plump up areas of the facial anatomy and is widely used for lip enhancement and counteracting thinning skin anywhere on the face. Finally, widespread regional use of hyaluronic acid will increase facial elasticity, especially when injected deeper into the skin tissue.

Hyaluronic Acid Treatment

Hyaluronic acid injections are quite expensive and only provide temporary effects. Most patients enjoy some benefit for 4 to 6 months, although individual results vary considerably. Depending on the area treated and the specific reason for treatment, the depth of the injection and pattern utilized may vary, as well. Generally, hyaluronic acid injections should always be performed by a trained and experienced dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon. Seeking treatment from a lesser qualified practitioner may lead to poor results or even problematic complications. As injectable fillers go, hyaluronic acid is among the most popular and will likely enjoy enduring success in the aesthetic industry.
