Truly Beautiful

Teen Breast Enlargement

Teen breast enlargement is a very controversial topic in the cosmetic surgery industry. While many teens push to undergo surgical breast augmentation at an early age, most surgeons advise against this practice. Understanding the emotional needs of teens gives a deeper insight as to why so many desire cosmetic enhancement. However, it is also crucial to learn the basics of human developmental anatomy to understand why teenage breast surgery might be premature.

Anatomical Facts about Teen Breast Enlargement

Teens are very grown up in some social and emotional aspects. It seems like every year, teens grow up faster and faster. However, physically, many teens are simply not mature. A significant percentage of girls continue to develop breast tissue into their 20’s. Many teens barely develop at all until their hormones and metabolism settle down, sometimes as late as 17 or 18 years old. It is true that many young women develop fully formed breasts as early as age 11 or 12. Genetics, lifestyle, geography and idiopathic circumstances account for a wide variation in developmental patterns and ages among teenage girls.

Teen Breast Enlargement Emotional Concerns

Teens who are late to develop, or are simply very small breasted, often suffer from psycho-emotional conditions such as anger, jealousy, anti-social behavior, poor self image, body dysmorphia, depression and a general lack of self confidence and self value. These issues are exacerbated by the constant barrage of body image conscious media. Girls who feel inferior due to their small breast size sometimes lose focus on more important age-appropriate issues in their quest to correct a perceived bodily deficiency. This can lead to poor athletic or scholastic performance or problematic social interaction.

Teen Breast Enlargement Social Concerns

Girls who suffer from the associated emotional issues stemming from their lack of breast development might demonstrate inappropriate social behaviors. Many of these girls want to be liked and accepted so badly, that they will often do things which are against their normal judgment, such as: experimentation with drugs, being sexually promiscuous or even attempting unsafe methods of breast enlargement. Parents who are aware of emotional breast issues in their daughters must be proactive with their children and keep an ongoing dialogue open to address these issues in a safe and controlled environment.

Recommendation on Teen Breast Enlargement

For many teens, tomorrow always seems like just another day away. Girls who are desperate to have larger breasts might lose objectivity about their physical condition and become resistant to logic. Many of these children use strong arm tactics to bully their parents into allowing or even paying for premature breast enlargement surgery. Do not allow your child to push you into any decision which you do not support 100%. Many girls who desire breast surgery early in life will realize that in a few years they have developed naturally on their own. Other girls will proceed with surgery at a more appropriate age. If your child is truly set on the idea of surgery, try to convince them to wait until they are 21. This will give their body a chance to develop naturally and also give them time to think about the procedure with an adult mind.
